about me Soft-spoken but still need to speak...are you listening? I am 28, from New Orleans, LA, and currently working on a doctorate in biomedical science. Much of my journal deals with my life as a gay black woman and the challenges of finding/making my place in this world, but I also use my journal (and LJ in general) as a tool to learn. I am a chronic thinker and I value intelligent discussion. My journal is unapologetic and honest and is, therefore, my shout to being free. not for us to remain enslaved or our spirits to remain in cages; it comes so we might be courageous, to fulfill our obligation to our God and all creation, stand in determination, able to look death in the face and say, "we made it, we made it, we made it, we made it." -Sunni Patterson in "We Made It" And some of you...don't understand why I choose, not a dress but baggy pants.
